The belt that never opens
A trick everybody knows, and which the system therefore knows: a belt that never opens is not a passenger. It is an anomaly.
- Week 1
The front passenger belt permanently reports “buckled”, even on trips without a passenger and at night in the car park.
- Week 1, at night
The evaluation sees: buckled for more than eight hours straight. The belt is discarded as evidence.
- Week 1, in the morning
On the car the seat is amber, the belt crossed out: permanent belt. The daily data check reports a signal without change.
- Afterwards
The boss has the plug removed. The belt counts again, passenger detection uses it once more.
